One Family, One Mission—Now Two Solutions

Z-Tech, Inc., the parent company behind the popular Z-CoiL® Pain Relief Footwear® brand, was the brainchild of Alvaro Z. Gallegos and his son, Andrés Gallegos.

Al, an avid, long-time runner who loved to tinker, developed the Z-CoiL shoe as a solution to his impact-related injuries. After he developed his own patented spring-suspension system for his running shoes, Al ultimately brought his unique footwear to market and the “Pain Relief Footwear” industry was born.

His son Andrés, who joined him as the President/CEO of Z-CoiL Footwear, didn’t suffer from the same pain issues as his Dad, but he still wanted to be able to stay healthy and active for years to come—in ergonomic shoes that he could also wear mountain biking! He became the force behind Bio-Trek: an effective pain relief shoe without the coil.

The Mission

Z-Tech is on a mission to help people everywhere enjoy healthy, active lives on their feet through the innovative design and quality manufacturing of ergonomic footwear. Currently, over 250 stores across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and now Taiwan, are authorized to represent the Z-CoiL® and Bio-Trek® brands.
